HOW TO LOWER YOUR WATER BILL
- Always check your faucets for any and all leakage.
- Always use a water saver showerhead in your shower.
- Always check your toilets for any and all leakage.
You can do this by adding food coloring into your toilet tank. Make sure
you use plenty so it colors the water. Wait about 30 minutes and see if any
of the colored water ends up in your toilet bowl. If that happens then you
have a leak. NOTE: Make sure you do not flush the toilet during that 30
minutes.
- If you use a lot of outside water, such as: sprinkler systems, watering
large lawns and gardens and washing of automobiles then you should think about
installing a 2nd water meter to measure that amount you are using for those
purposes. The purpose of doing this is so you do not get charged for the sewer
end of it from your local town or city because outside water goes into the
ground and not in the sewer system. Installing a 2nd meter gets pretty
expensive so make sure you use alot of outside water.
